With the continuous rapid economic development, people now pay more attention to energy conservation, with the "green light" applications, especially the requirement to replace the traditional incandescent lamp with a variety of energy-saving lamps. In this paper, the design of its protection circuit for a single energy saving lamp driver chip, can be adapted to a stable, high efficiency, low heat dissipation at 220 V AC civilian work environment. Specialized device integrated module of the chip can be good for each device isolation, and try to reduce the size of the chip design, work processes and short response time. The driver chip protection circuits are mainly discussed on the pulse trigger circuit, short-circuit protection fault timer peripheral resistance temperature detector, abnormal signal generating circuit, compared with the current sampling circuit, ESD anti-static protection for the entire chip function modules to achieve effective protection.In this paper, each unit circuit of the protection circuit is schematics designed, and completed the simulation experimental testing. By comparing with the design parameters, experimental results of the circuit can reach the expectation and run at low power, high efficiency under conditions to ensure reliability.
