Now because the information technology is so developed, the publication and acquisition of referred papers in Internet become so quick. There is an explosive growth of the referred papers which include some potential information. It’s very necessary to dig out the research hotspots of the related fields from the referred papers if many researchers want to know which subjects are the research hotspots or which research fields are valuable for reference.Based on the deep research of the hot topic detection system, this thesis has offered a method to detect the research hotspots of all kind of fields. The following is the basic idea. Firstly, taking the academic conference papers published in the network as the resource, building the referenced matrix through the citations, and processing the matrix to meta-matrix, then making the meeting clusters by using the session clustering algorithm for domain topic identification. Secondly, applying text clustering for every meeting cluster, and combinating this with subject for forming the theme set library. Third, definiti-ong the attributes of the theme frequency, theme cited frequency and theme impacted factor, and calculating the values of the attributes according to the attribute definitions. Considering the attribute value and the theme heat value, plot the curve through the trend retrieval of the theme and the data interaction between the client and the server. At last, testing the performance of the system with four test methods, the results show that the theme tendency given by this system is reasonable and effective.After testing, the system can give the reasonable development tendency of research topics of all disciplines and present the results pictorially after detecting their research topics. When users input keywords, the system will implement the trend retrieval and the key words can be mapped to the corresponding topics quickly. What’s more, the system can also tell us the distribution of the referred papers both English and Chinese in a certain year and distribution of the authors as well as the trend value, which can be known intuitively by the users and be used as the reference to have some knowledge about the direction of future research.
