Reseach And Implementation Of 10G Converged Network Adapter Card Software

With the development of science and technology, all kinds of high and new technology is flourishing, and the computer network technology has been developing rapidly. All kinds of services, attached to the computer network,are more and more high to the requirement of the network. Such as the storage technology of storage area network,the required rate has not been satisfied with the 2 g, 4 g of before. Now the required rate has reached to 10 g. And for storage area network, CNA adapter card requirements of the fusion with ethernet technology, the FCOE technology is coming.FCOE(FCOE: Fiber Channel over Ethernet) technology is a standard protocol via by ethernet,to make the data transmitting based on FC protocol content and encapsulated in the Ethernet frame header.And now, because of a lot of network protocol coexistence, the number of one computer PCIE slots is limited.Developing a network adapter with handling multiple protocols at the same time could improve the convenience, reduce the number of the adapters to use,and the number of network cables.CNA adapter card is a network adapter,based on FCOE technology, applied by standard nic device driver procedures.It can be dealt with the data of FC protocol stack, and at the same time handle a packet of TCP stack. CNA adapter card,based on the above, can be connected with Ethernet switch and FCOE switches,realizing 10 g high-speed data transmission, and through the FCOE protocol can be successful to land the large capacity disk devices.At the same time, CNA adapter card,through the SCSI-FCP,can operate the disk after landing successfully,and at the same time achieves a high rate of store operation. The driver codes of CNA adapter card will identify and separate process storage protocols and TCP stack protocols, realized the combines of many functions in one network adapter card of high speed.Based on the existing equipment and technology of our researching lab, this paper mainly said about the storage class protocols, standard Ethernet adapter driver, and based on the implementation of 10 g CNA adapter card driver.And a test was carried out.The hardware part of CNA adapter card in this paper adopts the the Altera development board of our own researching lab, and the driver developing is partly based on Linux kernel. In this paper, the FCOE protocol,other kinds of storage class protocol and the key technology of standard Ethernet adapter card fusion is analyzed. By according to the strict requirements of interconnection platform, the tested of 10 g CNA adapter card reaches all kinds of indexes and expected goal.
