The electrical equipment of electric system needs to be regularly tested, inspected and maintained. Hot-line work is an effective way for avoiding maintenance outage and ensuring normal power supply. As the operation process is highly risky, the strict requirements on working distance and position for hot-line working personnel. During the operation process, violating the required distance to operate and entering the dangerous hot-line working area without permission are the major reasons that caused accident. Therefore, the skills training for hot-line working personnel is widespread attention, hot-line working personnel’s working distance and the location of personnel training has become the focus of the training. It is of great significance to introduce ZigBee position technology into the hot-line work training, so as to monitor, record the location and distribution of the trainees as the existing training methods can’t record operating distance and location. The application of ZigBee position technology in hotline work training is researched in this paper, and the concrete research contents are as follows:1、The major wireless positioning technologies and positioning algorithms are researched and compared before selecting key algorithm and model.The classification, merits and demerits of major wireless positioning technologies and positioning algorithms are analyzed deeply in the beginning of the paper. According to the actual situation of the hot-line work field, and comprehensively considered the characteristics and application environment of various positioning technologies and algorithms, the positioning system based on ZigBee technology and centroid of point of intersection are selected to build positioning system.2、BP neural network is used to improve wireless signal propagation model. The improved wireless signal propagation model by BP neural network with the measurement data of ZigBee node is utilized to improve the poor ranging accuracy of the traditional wireless signal propagation model. Through the simulation of BP neural network mode, the best values of all kinds of parameters of BP neural network are confirmed. A comparison between the improved propagation model on the basis of BP neural network and the traditional model is made after confirmed the model. The simulation verifies the advantages of the improved propagation model in ranging accuracy and stability.3、Based on the centroid of point algorithm,Centroid of point of intersection is proposed to solve problems as the ZigBee position algorithm that the ranging error of traditional centroid of point algorithm would have a great impact on the final positioning accuracy. The improved four point, excentric, difference numerical algorithm was adopted to correct the measurement error. The positioning method is improved by discussing the situation of different points of intersection in terms of the positioning process. Then, centroid method was used to location. The simulation result shows that the positioning accuracy and stability of the positioning method that adopted in this paper are superior to traditional positioning method.4 、 The positioning system for hot-line work trainees is established. Then embedded platform and PC monitoring software code is designed and compiled for this positioning system.At last, distance measurement and positioning test on the positioning system in the actual hot-line working area are carried out to test the system. The test result shows that the accuracy and stability of the distance measurement, point positioning and area positioning are superior to that of the traditional algorithm. The successful early warning and false alarm rate of this positioning algorithm are superior to that of the traditional one, which reflected the practicability of this positioning system in the training venue of hot-line work as well as the excellence of distance measurement and positioning.
