As the indispensable part of a radar system, the antenna technology has make a spurt of progress in recent years. Especially the phased-array antenna’s advantage has been found gradually, such as fast scanning speed, flexible beam control,multiple targets searching and tracking, strongadaptive and anti-interference ability and soon.Therefore it has found an increasingly wide utilization in military target search and instructions, firefinder, airborne fire control and other fields. Under the guidance of the phased-array technology’s development, the antenna testing technology is also developed rapidly, in order to adapt to the increasing volume and channel number of the phased-array antenna.This thesis describes an antenna measurement system design which is based on the modular instruments under the PXI(PCI extensions for Instrumentation) architecture,presents the hardware of the system, completes the software design in Lab VIEW,realizes the antenna amplitude and phase measurement in far field.In this thesis we build up an accurate, economic and portable test system with the newest test technology. Experiments showed that the design of the hardware and software has met the expected requirements.The main research contents are divided into the following parts:The first chapter introduces the research background of this system, analyzed the research status at home and abroad on the antenna measurement system; the second chapter studies the basic theory of antenna testing, makepreparation for the selection of measurement method; the third chapter based on the basic theory, thinks out the overallscheme of the antenna test system, gives the various components of the systemrequirements and implementation; the fourth chapter gives the model selection and the technical indicators of the antenna test system’s hardware part, to complete the hardware platform; the fifth chapter designs thecontrol software of the antenna testing system, to control the hardware platform and analyze measurement result; the sixth chapter will validatethe performance of the test system respectively in the laboratory andactualtestfield; at the end of the thesis, the total research contents are summarized and the future research work is prospected.
