Design And Implementation Of Network Management System Of Open Laboratory

With the widespread of computer technology and the rapid development of the computer networks, nowadays the information technology also develops at a great speed. The social economy’s development should be promoted by the informationization whose development should rely on the advances of the computer networks. The informationization in colleges and universities is motivated by the Internet. It is very difficult for the traditional teaching management to meet the requirements from the development of the informationization because of its own disadvantages. Therefore, based on the campus networks and the advanced information management platforms, it is of great significance to create an open labs networks management system(OLMS) for realizing college labs’ scientification, networking and standardization.According to the research on the current situation of experiment teaching in Guangxi Technological College of Machinery and Electricity(GXCME), the author carried out the research work of this paper on the topic of design and implementation of OLMS. The main research work consists of three parts as follows: Firstly, to communicate with each department about the use of the labs and present the demand report for the system based on the needs. Secondly, to plan and design, that is, planning the system functions on the basis of the demands,researching the application of labs management and then proposing the solution plan for OLMS. Thirdly, to implement the plan. In details, OLMS is built with PHP as the developing technique, MySQL as its back database and Apache as its server’s network platform. All these are combined to build and apply OLMS based on B/S mode. The main functions of this system include: labs’ open reservation, assets management, application for equipment maintenance/write-off and paperless office work. In this way, the students’ study can be motivated with the open reservation and the labs can be used better with a higher efficiency. Moreover, the working efficiency will be improved by reducing the complex application procedures.Finally, as for the function test of OLMS, recent experiments have indicated that the system has the satisfactory functions. OLMS is one part of GXCME’s construction plan for key national vocational colleges and has facilitated the college to pass the project appraisals organized by the national departments concerned smoothly.
