The fracture of rigid body in the real world is a chaotic system. Fracturing effects simulation affected by many factors such as materials, power point, and the direction of the force. Any change of material, the force and direction of the force, ultimately result fracture effect completely different. If you depend on speculating, it is almost impossible to get accurate result of propagation direction and the movement of fragments. In the real world, it’s very hard to search an equation to describe the movement of objects, so simulation of fracture effect is a not easy work. Fracture in real world seemingly not fixed, but in fact they follow a certain physical laws. Simulating based on the physics laws to the real-world objects is a very complex process, which involves the field of mechanics of materials, mathematics and computer related knowledge. These bring much difficult to those one who try to simulate fracture effect based on the laws of physics.Rigid body fracturing effects simulation in the game and film industries has used more and more extensive. Due to the unpredictability of the fracture, many more researchers enter the field. How to generate convincing fracturing effect and how to more realistic simulate the movement of fragments, how to use the underlying collision detection system to improve interactivity of whole system, these bring some difficulty to simulation. So how to simulate fracture effect of rigid body realistically has been a hot issue in virtual reality field.We have analyzed the most popular method of fracture effects simulation, we designed a method: combine pre-fracturing and real-time simulation of crack. Firstly, divide the model with 3D Voronoi grid into many pieces, and then all the pieces are combined into a completed model with a mesh structure. When model are collided by other object, fragments according to the collision information separated out from the model, and all fragments take Dynamic simulation. We apply technology of multiple textures to generate cracks on the model surface. The contributions and relevant work in this paper are as follows:1. Pre-segmenting the model which can be fractured, and then all the pieces are combined into a completed model with a mesh structure, which accelerate the rate of formation of fragments.2. We take advantage of voronoi diagram to simulate cracks, and present the method of normal random seed point apply to generate voronoi diagram. When model collide with other object, cracks on the surface of model generate based on the collision information in real time, which improve the facticity of the system.3. We have used both multi-texture technology and Mipmap technology in the stage of graphics rendering, which improve the efficiency of the system.
