On a traditional platform of large-scale data center, where software and hardware are closely integrated, it is very easy to encounter conflicts when a number of applications are running simultaneously on a same host. Therefore, a single application often requires the support of a whole set of hardware, leading to a serious of problems such as large investment but low efficiency, high energy consumption, and difficult supervision. Obviously, the traditional IT platforms are no longer fit for the development of information system for modern companies. To solve above problems, a new IT platform based on cloud and virtualization technology should be a great choice,for different forms of information resources, such as physical machines, virtual machines, networks, storages, etc., are able to connect and collaborate in the one pool.In this paper, we will focus on the design and implementation of cloud-based IT ecosystem for Sichuan Electric Power Corporation, subsidiary of State Grid. Without additional investment on hardware, the new system is able to improve in working efficiency and user experience, and also, it is greener. Such project has generated considerable economic and social benefits for Sichuan Electric Power Corporation, and therefore could set an example for other companies who looking for cloud solution of its information system.The paper includes four sections: 1. Introduction of key technologies involved in building the cloud resource pool system for Sichuan Electric Power Corporation. 2.Analysis of issues and challenges facing by the old IT system in a real working circumstance. 3. Description of the function requirements of the new system and how the main infrastructures are designed, including the overall architecture design,functional design, distributed scheduling engine design, Iaa S layer load balancing scheduling algorithm design, system architecture design techniques, as well as system software hardware configuration and deployment, application integration design. 4.Verification of the cloud resource pools, and proposed future research goals.
