Informationization is the development tr end of the economy and soc iety in the world, the sign of and key to contem porary agricultural modernization, an important support to promote the development of agricultural modernization and the main way to increase farmers’ income, improve rural economic development and accelerate the construction of modern agriculture. In recent years, with the growing demand of farmers for agriculture-related infor mation in rural areas and an increas ed awareness ab out economic development through informationization, how to make full use of information technology and information service network for the ag riculture becomes a very important and urgent work. Theref ore, the establishment of an integrated information service platform for rural econom y oriented to “agriculture, farmer and rural area” is necessary. The subject will design and de velop a s et of agricu ltural comprehensive information management system for the broad masses of farm ers to provide accurate and timely agricultural information and market information based on the actual needs of the business.Firstly, this paper describes the research background of the topic and the application status of the agricultural econom ic information management system, and analyzes the technologies related to the cons truction of the system in details. Then, it analyzes the need for the system where the construction of the agricultural econom ic information management system is "to build an agricu ltural economic information service website(i.e. WWW.SCNJW.GOV.CN) and deploy one application system s(i.e. content management system)". Next, after analyzi ng each functional m odule implementing the subsystem, the paper provides the detailed design and im plementation for the syste m and its databases and gives som e implementation codes. Finally, the system is tested to show that the agricultural econom ic information management system can run reliably and meet the needs of agricultural economic information management.For this topic, the three-tier structure based on B/S is used to develop and design an agricultural economic information management system by which the users are provided with a browser-based operating mode and can access the system through the browser in any place. The operations at the clients are simplified and the operability and maintainability of the system are improved, and also greatly reduces the system clients load and system maintenance costs.Now, the system has been put into use to business operation. Through the test, this system is reasonable in design, convenient operation and powerful function, which can basically meet the needs of users, this system provides a new approach fast and efficient access to all kinds of agricu ltural information in rural areas. It is efficient, standardized management platform and real-time content distribution platform, the system has good development prospect.
