Light field imaging technology as a computer imaging technology which combines conventional optical imaging system and computer, it process includes the collection of light field information about object and the processing of light field information. Compares with traditional imaging systems’ autofocus technology, light field imaging uses optical device to capture light field information and then computationally process them to get images which focus at any depth position. At the same time light field imaging overcomes other limitations of conventional imaging systems. In this paper, according to the principle of light field imaging, the light field imaging system is theoretical analyzed; and using the method of geometrical optics, the light field imaging system is simulated, also building the corresponding imaging system on the optical platform. Furthermore, the article theoretical describes and experimental verifies the improved light field imaging system – focusing optical field imaging system, by computationally process realizing the image reconstructed. At last, the article discusses the relationship of directional resolution and macro-pixel for the light field imaging system, analyzing and improving the utilization of pixel. Improving the system’s pixel utilization effectively. The main contents are as follows.1. From the perspective of the lens imaging, how to obtain the spatial information of objects is described, and the principle of light field imaging based on micro-lens array is analyzed and introduced, including the parameterized representation of light field, light field acquisition, the recording of light field and imaging process. Giving the imaging formula of focus on any plane.2. The imaging position of object through light field imaging system is theoretical derived and calculated. Through constructing the three-dimensional objects and simulating the light-field imaging system. The simulation data of these three-dimensional objects in light field is obtained. Based on the reversible principle of optical light field, data is reversely deduced and simulated to achieve the reproduce of object at the planes with certain depth. The optical path of light field imaging system which based on microlens array is built, and the light field information of the object is obtained.3. Theoretical analyzing the focusing light field imaging system, by adjusting the structure of the light field imaging system, the desired optical path of the experiment is obtained. Through processing the data which collected from the microlens array is placed in different positions, realized the image reproduction of focusing in different position.4. The pixel utilization rate of imaging sensor with the main lens using a circular aperture is analyzed. A series of programs to improve the efficiency of pixels are proposed, then calculated and compared. Finally the method using a square aperture in the front of the main lens aperture is proposed and experimented, summarizing the conclusion of using this scheme to improve the utilization of pixels effectively.
