Recently, with the rapid growth of the wireless communication systems, there are ever higher requirements for the miniaturization of the devices and the integration level of the systems. To realize the miniaturization of the device is the first thing we should do, because it’s very helpful for reducing the loss and promote the integration level of the systems. With the discovery of the artificial electromagnetic material, there is one more approach to realize the miniaturization of the devices. The global corresponding researchers are focus on using this approach to realize the miniaturization of the variety devices, of course including the power divider. The majority of the researches were about the Wilkinson power divider. Whereas it is insufficient for other power dividers, such as Gyesl power divider and Bagley power divider. The artificial electromagnetic material-based miniaturized power dividers were designed according to the corresponding theory of Wilkinson, Gysel and Bagley power divider. The measures results show the power dividers all have good performance.Firstly, an artificial electromagnetic material-based Wilkinson power divider with filtering response is designed according to the theory of Wilkinson power divider. The equivalent circuit is utilized to analyze the resonator. The phase response of the resonator is discussed, too. In addition, according to the theory of Gysel power divider and the character of phase advance of the artificial electromagnetic material transmission line, the certain transmission lines of the Gysel power divider are replaced by the artificial electromagnetic material transmission lines. Then a miniaturized Gysel power divider is obtained. The paper shows the theory analysis of the impedance and phase of transmission lines. Then, a miniaturized dual-band Gysel power divider is designed by replacing the 180 degree transmission line with a dual-band transformer. The realizable range of frequency-ratio of the power divider is analyzed and the technology approach between this paper and others’ are compared. All the measurement results indicate that the power dividers have good performance and smaller size.Secondly, an artificial electromagnetic material-based miniaturized three-way(can expand to odd way) Bagley power divider is designed according to its operating theory. The operating theory of the new designed power divider is also explained. The impedance and phase of the artificial electromagnetic material transmission line is analyzed. According to the former strcture, a miniaturized filtering Bagley power divider is proposed by using the artificial electromagnetic material-based resonator. The equivalent circuit of the resonator is analyzed. After the fabrication and measurement, the two three-way power divider show good performance and realize the miniaturization.
