Analysis of electromagnetic radiation is of great importance in electromagnetic, especially in analysis of radiation characteristics of array antenna, which serves as an important guiding role in the research of surveillance radar, wireless communication system and phased array system. Therefore, we take the analysis method of the single antenna radiation characteristics to antenna array, corresponding the single feed point is extended to multiple feed points. In the past decades, the stability of delta gap source model has been problematic. In order to avoid the instability in the calculation of the input impedance and surface current under the conventional gap source model, we take the enhanced gap source model as the excitation source.Method of moments (MoM) was widely used to analyze the radiation characteristics of the antenna, but because of the large number of the antenna units, the coupling effect of each antenna unit will cut down the overall performance of the array antenna and the unknown also increase, which will lead to lower down the calculation and need more memory requirement. Therefore, we need a method which can be fast and save memory requirement to analysis the electromagnetic radiation characteristic of antenna array, characteristic basis function method(CBFM) are to meet these requirements.CBFM can reduced the size of the impedance matrix by the concept of domain decomposition, and change the spacing between sub-domains to reduce the mutual coupling effects. Because without the restrictions of A/20 domain discretization, we can reduce the number of unknows in MoM through cut down the size of sub-domain. So CBFM can be used to solve electrically large problems with much fewer unknowns.In order to validate the accuracy of CBFM, we combine the CBFM and MoM with conventional delta gap source model to calculate radiation characteristics of line antenna array, bowtie antenna array and flat antenna array. Furthermore, combining CBFM with the enhanced gap source model and conventional gap source model to analyze the antenna array, so that it can verify the accuracy and stability of the enhanced model by the numerical results. Finally, under the above conditions, CBFM and MoM will be used to analyze the radiation characteristics of antenna array, simultaneously, the driving source is enhanced gap source model.
