The core content of the industrial Internet is: connecting people, data and the machines through the network, realizing the manufacturing intelligence and improving production efficiency. Routing technology in the environment of factory, as an important part of the industrial Internet, attracts more and more attention.The DSDV protocol, the DSR protocol and the AODV protocol, which are suitable for being used in the environment of factory, are selected for researching. The three kinds of protocols are completely simulated by NS which is a kind of network simulation software, after being introduced the theory. Three kinds of simulations are carried out, which include static simulation, dynamic simulation and scene simulation. The evaluation standards of network are used for analyzing the simulation results. A series of conclusions are produced after the analysis, which includes: the static property of the DSDV protocol is best while the dynamic property is worst, therefore, the DSDV protocol can only be used in the network of stable topology. Both the static property and the dynamic property of the AODV protocol and the DSR protocol are excellent; therefore, the two kinds of protocols can be applied in the network of frequent changeable topology. The DSR protocol shows better performance in the scene simulation, therefore, the DSR protocol is selected for further research.There is only one route path in the DSR protocol. The advantage of the DSR protocol is that the route table can be established quickly. The disadvantage of the DSR protocol is that the partial part of the network is too busy and the other part is too easy. Besides, there is no spare route path available when the single route path is broken. A multipath method is put forward for improving the DSR protocol. The method is that two route paths are produced by each routing discovery process. One is the shortest path; the other is the most different path to the shortest one. The two route paths are used alternatively when the packets are sent. To make the multipath come true, the routing discovery process and the way to select the route path need to be improved. In addition, the routing maintenance process is also improved. Due to the change of network topology, some routing paths break down; some packets are failed in sending in the network. According to the theory of the DSR protocol, these packets are put into the send buffer and are handled in period time, which leads to the increase of packet transmission delay. The method to improve the routing maintenance process is that using the second route path when the first route path is broken, launching the routing process when both route paths are broken.After the improvement of the DSR protocol, a simulation is carried out between the DSR protocol and the improved DSR protocol. The results of the simulation show the improved protocol works better in both the environment of stable network topology and the environment of unstable network topology. Therefore, the method to improve the DSR protocol makes sense.
