In the industrial production environment, the wireless technology is used in industrial measurement and control system, bringing more benefits than the traditional system. However, due to the complex environment of industrial production and the limited network resources, the traditional wireless network routing mechanism cannot satisfy the requirements of industrial applications of real-time data transmission, energy efficiency and reliability. Therefore, routing mechanism satisfying the industrial wireless network and needs of industrial applications has become the hot research topic. In this thesis, a topology and path planning of industrial wireless networks for communication data is designed to improve network performance. Because the fixed network topology cannot adapt to the change communication data in the new production cycle, a topology planning is proposed. Based on communication data from routing device, the gateway computer calculates the transmission delay, traffic, reliable transmission, and load balancing performances, and field devices equipment adjust the network access point to improve the overall performance of the network. Because of the limitations of routing equipment finding a message path, a path planning is proposed. Based on communication data, the gateway computer calculates the hops, traffic, reliable transmission, load balancing performances, sorts messages and looks for paths to improve the network performance. Both methods can be used simultaneously planning to improve network performance. With NS2 simulator the topology and path planning simulation experiments are made in the pseudo-random scenes and a real scene. Compared with the initial network, networks treated by topology planning and path planning can not only ensure data communication with less energy consumption and low latency but also extend the lifetime of the networks.
