In recent years, with the development of radar against technology, the electromagnetic environment that radar faced is more and more complicated, stealth technology, anti-radiation missiles, integrated electronic interference, low altitude penetration technology has been further developed, the traditional radar has been difficult to deal with these problems. Distributed phased array radar is a new radar based on the distributed radar and the phased array radar. Its advantages are that it can detect a wide detection range, its’ precision is very high and it can detect small target and so on. It can play an important role in fighting anti-radiation missiles and stealth technology. Target location is a part that can’t be missed in radar measuring. It is also an important indicator to radar performance. Distributed phased array radar’s target location is one of important parts for researching the distributed phased array radar.Target location that based on the distributed phased array radar is the main object of study in this paper. After depth analysis of the basic algorithm of radar’s target location, the distributed phased array radar’s system structure, the target location’s spectral theory, this paper does a detailed discussion and research on the target location. And the details are as follows.1. Research the method of target location. Proposing distributed MUSIC spectral algorithm which based on MUSIC algorithm to solving the target location of the distributed phased array radar. Because the distributed phased array radar’s structure is very special and it has multiple phased radar sites, this algorithm put the noise subspace of every radar site’s received signal and the corresponding flow vector into the same one spectral function to processing. The algorithm maintains the advantages of a high positioning accuracy of the MUSIC algorithm. And the algorithm can automatic match multi objects, the situation that can’t search the target does not appear. However, the algorithm is still looking for spectral peaks by searching, it need a large amount of calculation.2. Research the number of radar site and these sites’ topology impacting on target location. And compare with the target location of other radar. Through theoretical analysis and simulation, these radar sites of receiving signals at least three if the positioning of points does not fuzzy. Sites’ lineup forms, uniform and non-uniform lineup and the lineup area affect the positioning accuracy, and simulate its impaction. In different dimensions space, compare the positioning performance of the distributed radar’s target location by TOA, the phased array radar’s target location by TOA-DOA and the distributed phased array radar’s target location by the distributed MUSIC spectral estimation algorithm.3. Research the impact for target location of reconstruction for distributed phased array radar’s radar sites. When the environment changes or radar site is damaged that can’t target location in the measuring area under the current settings, reconstruction the radar site then targeting. The reconstruction include reconstructing receiving and transmitting signal for every radar site and Reconstructing the remaining radar sites after someone or some sites crashed. After reconstruction, the system still can target location, and verify this theory by simulation.
