Digitalization and informatization have become the trend of modern warfare; advanced digital radar is of great strategic significance. As an important part of the digital radar, the characteristic of ADC and channel of a receiver affects the overall performance of radar. Testing of these indicators is also a necessary mean for the receiver research, production and maintenance, then digital receiver automatic test system has come into being. This thesis developes a computer-based virtual instrument, different from conventional radar testing equipment, the entire testing system is completed in software. It will reduce the costs of update and maintenance and avoid measuring errors.The receiver test system includes two parts, hardware and software. The hardware part collects the data from the optical interface, stores in DDR, and transfers it to computer via cPCI bus. Then the software shows waveforms and indicators after the data was analyzed. The system can collect data from four channels at most, and analyzes the data, show the spectrum, calculate the index. In this thesis, the principle of the receiver has been introduced; the ADC dynamic parameters, static parameters and channel parameters were included. Dynamic parameters and channel parameters are calculated in spectral analysis method, static parameters are calculated in histogram method. Then the problems existed in software design and implement as well as issues in the process were introduced, finally the results and pictures of the entire test system were given.In an automatic test system, software design and implementation become very important jobs. In chapter four, software development was introduced in detail; software was developed by Code::Blocks in C++ language, and wxWidgets was used as graphical user interface(GUI) library. Designs of main frame building, important parameters setting, communication between hardware and software, spectrum mapping and parameter calculation were introduced. In the parameter setting module, buffer length ranges from 512 b to 512 Kb, and the greater the buffer length is set in the hardware, and the more the amount of data will be stored in the DDR and also the larger amount of date will be used to analyse and calculate in the software at one time. In the hardware and software communication module, what the interactive process need to execute are hardware detection, data transmission and system self-test, all these work guarantee the system working in a stable state. In graphics mapping module, signal can be shown both in time domain and frequency domain, and the module also supports graphic Marker, data select, data adjustment and other functions. In the parameter calculation module, the data is collected from the graphics mapping module and analysed in a determined method and displayed in the calculation result panel synchronizes with the signal spectrum.
