With the continuous development of electronic technology, the complexity of electronic systems increases. Testability analysis plays an increasingly important role in failure diagnosis of complex electronic systems. The accuracy of testability analysis ties to the testability model. Currently, testability modeling often need to rely on the awareness and experience of the operators about system functions. And lots of information should be collected in the testability modeling. It requires a high workload to build a complete model, which maybe contains mistakes. Therefore, it is necessary to research automatic modeling method, and to develop an automatic modeling software platform. The automatic modeling software platform is used for assisting testability analysis software in modeling to reduce the workload.Firstly, this paper designs the structure of the automatic modeling software platform based on the obstacles that testability modeling is facing. The automatic modeling software platform based on multi-signal model builds an interactive interface that includes a module interface for system designers and a test interface for testers. The automatic modeling software platform which embedded circuit simulation modeling module and database connection module achieved the operation of module, line, test point and test in multilayer system quickly and smoothly. The platform completed modeling in transmission of XML files with testability analysis software TestabilityDA.Secondly, this paper researched an automatic modeling method based on circuit simulation. According to the relationship between circuit and multi-signal model, a method by circuit diagram into multi-signal model is put forward. The method calculates failure propagation direction by superposition of sub failure flows. Meanwhile, a few program modules including netlist reading, automatic simulation, failure propagation tree calculating and failure flows superposing is written to realize the conversion of circuit diagram into multi-signal model.Finally, the structure of failure and test database is established. It achieves the ability that the platform can retrieve the database. The failure and test database which stored common standard component failure data and test data could not only avoid the tedious processing of looking for the data, but also ensure the accuracy of the data.By the testing of two examples, the functions of all parts of the automatic modeling software platform could work properly. Compared with the original modeling methods, the automatic modeling software platform reduced the workload of the modeling greatly.
