Since 1998,the huge research of national resource has been executed in almost ten years, achieving fruitful results. These results involve every specialized subject of Geography, and contain a mass of images and data which is complex in the data type and format. Complexity also exists in the connection between the data. In order to improve the quality of the results of the Geological research project and the level of supervision and management which will keep the research work operate smoothly, we need to give the Geological research project a scientific analysis and management, and design a effective database platform to make it meet the need of the store/search/analyze/policy- making of the data. It also should be possessed of the quality of reliability, integrity and security. For the sake of these reasons, the realization of “the monitoring system of the northeast Geological research project” is necessary.In the design of the system, first of all, according to the national and industry standards, the project supervision and management of geological survey is processed by the standardization. Then, object-oriented software analysis and design methods are applied and the relational database technology is taken as the core. Further, on the basis of a set of data acquisition and management, the information management system is established, which includes convenient access, query, analysis of statistics and graphics, reports, output function. And the system implements the deployment of Geological Survey about the northeastern region of the project planning, the results of the report of the supervision and management of information, such as the digitization of information, visualization and dynamic management, project management and a higher level for decision-making departments so as to provide supporting analysis tools and platforms.The management system is a specialized information management platform. The system is based on B / S architecture on the basis of the Visual Studio 2005 development platform, the use of ASP.NET 2.0 programming techniques and SQL Server 2000 database technology, C # language to develop the web application software. The expert system is mainly to achieve information management systems, project information management system, standardized the management system, information systems and data entertainment module output system statistics. Finally, the system has dynamic, interactive, design simplicity, the exchange of user-friendly interface, useful and easy-to-use features.
