Currently in the "IP address-centric" Internet, exposing the problems of mobility, scalability, security, quality of service, economy and so on, to solve those issues, currently one of the main ideas of the research community is to create " content-centric " Network, the next generation Internet, also known as ICN( Information Centric Network).Content Center Network(CCN: Content Centric Network) is currently one of the most representative proposed next-generation network architecture. Routers can cache content is a key factor to improve the content distribution efficiency of CCN.In the study of cache problems in CCN, caching mechanism is the use of cache to reduce network traffic. It is divided into two ways that reducing the number of packets and decreasing the packet size in the network. The first way has little effect to CCN that has large amount of content and small cache size of single node. Existing researches show that data packets transmitted in the Internet contain a large number of redundant information, by reducing redundant information can greatly improve the efficiency of network bandwidth utilization. In order to achieve redundancy elimination, Traditional IP network will bring a lot of extra communication overheads,it is difficult to be realized. The special communication pattern and content caching capabilities of routers in CCN provide a strong support to eliminate redundant information in the network. This paper presents a network-level redundancy elimination method for CCN, which can reduce network traffic and improve the efficiency of bandwidth utilization and achieve network-level redundancy elimination for CCN.If the node with cache make decision whether to cache content independently, many nodes in the network are likely to have the same content in the cache, this method causing excessive waste of cache resources in the network and low cache utilization efficiency. In order to avoid duplication in caches and to improve cache efficiency, cache management approach now widely used collaborative cache management which is characterized by "one by one decision-making" and "centralized computing ". But the collaborative cache management cause large communication and processing overhead, show poor scalability and can’t suit to the scene of rapid and dynamic information changing. So the current collaborative cache management is not suitable for CCN which have a large number of content and cache state changes fast. Flow-based management approach can improve the efficiency of the packets processing, while existing CCN cache management methods have not been studied in combination of flow-based. According to the characteristics of the CCN, we propose a flow-based cache management in CCN which cause less communication and processing overhead, and to achieve efficient cache management.
