With people’s increased awareness of protecting the environment, clean and healthy rolling aluminum foil packing material is widely used for cigarette package, for example, rolling aluminum foil packing paper. But different rolling aluminum foil paper has a different plasticity, after folding, it will have different rebound, some package problems as badly folded foil is easy to be presented, thereby affecting the working efficiency of the cigarette packing machine. So the crease recovery property of the rolling aluminum foil material becomes an important indicator to measure the quality of the rolling aluminum foil material.This paper takes developing of the crease recovery testing machine of the rolling aluminum foil material as an example, researches the use of method of the existing test machine, fixes test sample by automatic clamping to avoid manual operation, thereby improving the experimental efficiency. Robotic arm is used to operate the pressure block, thereby reducing error introduced by manual operation. And the pressurized time is accuracy controlled, thereby avoiding test error brought by inaccurate pressurized time. Recovery angle of test sample is measured by computer. The machine has the advantages in the use of operation, measurement accuracy, reliability, and test efficiency, etc.The main work of this paper focuses on that a fixed mode of automatic clamping is developed and recovery angle of test sample is measured by computer. Firstly, a switch input and output control board of the computer is used to control the sample clamping device. Secondly, the computer which is used for measuring the recovery angle are researched, takes pictures for the sample, image of the test results is filtered, then edge detection and the recovery angle calculation according to an edge position are performed. After the sample machine is made, and a manual test method is compared with a test method used by the sample machine, this method has the advantages of convenient and reliable use, test efficiency and test accuracy improvement. And this method plays a significant role in promoting the sustainable development of the society and related industry competitiveness of our country.
