The tracking and measurement technology based on machine vision combines the machine vision technology and the tracking and measurement technology organically. The tracking system which designed with traditional technology usually works in the way which is guided by people. This way is difficult to satisfy the need of digitization and automation because of its low efficiency and bad precision. As a comprehensive detection technology, the machine vision captures the target image via CCD, and then obtains the target information via the technology of image processing in the tracking system. It is impactful to boost the stability and intelligence of the tracking system by the way of non-osculatory measurement with the technology of motor control.The current situation of the development at home and abroad regarding the tracking and measurement technology based on machine vision has been introduced and the overall design of the tracking system based on the machine vision technology was made.The coarse tracking system has been designed so as to avoid the situation of artificial reset after the missing of the target ball of the laser tracker. The algorithm of image processing and identification has been researched and the relationship between the video camera and the rotating platform was determined.The data transmission is massive in the tracking system. The control and acquisition system based on DSP has been designed in order to satisfy the real time requirement, and then the precise tracking system was designed. The mathematical model of motor and driving system has been established on the basis of principle analysis of DC brush motor.A kind of high performance DC motor driver has been developed on the basis of theoretical analysis. The conversion system of control signal also has been designed, which is the bridge of digital system and analog system.The experimental platform of the tracking measurement based on machine vision has been set up. Experiment data is obtained and analysed. The result shows that the tracking measurement system based on machine vision is feasible.
