In recent years, many persons employ counterfeit diplomas and trickish measures in the job finding process. The main reason is the social pressure on graduates and employers’high demand for education. At present, diploma forgery behaviors are more and more rampant. Driven by interests, the industry of diploma forgery not only appears, but also tends to be open in public. On one hand, counterfeit diplomas cause great damage to the academic reputation of a university, and lead to the devaluation of real diplomas. On the other hand, employment opportunities of real talents are reduced since employers are in fear of choosing the false talents. Both companies and graduates are concerned about the diploma anti-forgery currently. Therefore it is imperative to take security measures to diplomas. Now, there are three kinds of anti-forgery techniques, namely physical one, chemical one and optical one. However, the common fatal flaw of them is that the anti-forgery effect is poor. It has been proved that the current physical anti-forgery and the chemical anti-forgery techniques can be imitated in a short period of time. Besides, there are also some other flaws such as high cost, difficulty in identifying for ordinary people. With the development of time, the intensity of anti-forgery is gradually increasing. Digita signatures have been already applied to passport antiforgery. However the shortcoming of this anti-forgery technique lies in the long length of the signature code, which needs to be stored by chips. As we know that the lifcspan of the chip is short, generally about 10 years. Meanwhile the cost of the chip is also a big problem. According to the news released by the Ministry of Education PRC, the uniform coding system "a unique number per person" will be applied after September 1st in China, which cannot eradicate forgeries completely either. Because if the formal websites of the Ministry of Education and universities are attacked by hackers who can implant fake information of qualifications and certificates into the student database of the websites, which cannot be detected in query. Secondly in the condition of lifetime use of "a unique number per person",student information is more likely to be leaked and abused.Based on the analysis of existing system, the safety, efficient and more practical diploma anti-forgery system has been proposed. And combined with the new theory of asymmetric identity, the research has been done as follows:(1) Accordong to the problems and shortcomings of the existing diploma anti-forgery systems, a new diploma anti-forgery system based on asymmetric identity is propsed. Asymmetric identity is generated from JUNA lightweight digital signature. Especially, the new system adds a resident ID number as the security trusted root to a digital identity, which effectively and thoroughly solves the diploma anti-forgery problem.(2) The security system is divided into several modules, including key generation and management, asymmetric identity modulation and identity verification and so on.(3) Diploma security core algorithm is designed and the length of the asymmetric identity is 16 characters, and is unnecessary to be stored in a chip but can be printed directly on a diploma with low cost and using a mobile phone as a reading sensor.(4) Demonstrate the system’s safety and availability, and makes a comparative analysis with diploma regulatory code.A high ease of use, security and good performance of this system is proved. Finally, the main direction of future research on this topic is pointed out and the work objectives of next stage are put forward as well.
