With the development of computer technology, communication technology, microelectronics technology, the complexity and the cost of software development are becoming higher and higher. If the software fails, it will end up in failure. Thus, in order to improve the reliability, the research community has put forward many related requirements engineering technology and modeling technology. But it still exists a problem realizing the software system to design flat transition smoothly, lacking a bridge. Therefore, the software architecture emerged with the times required.Among the test method, testing on the software architecture layer is necessary. The test can find the defects itself and make the defects are checked and revised in the early stage. Rather than wait until the software realization or the final delivery phase. And the same software system structure can be reused widely so as to develop a rich variety of software system. Then pay of manpower, time and cost in the software architecture itself can be compensated through the reuse of the software architecture. The most prominent is greatly reduced the cost of software testing phase.This paper presents an architecture based approach, called basic component path Algorithm(BCPA). To obtain the basic component path, the method using the basic path generation method and C2 style software architecture. That is to say, the method may generate the test paths by analyzing software architecture specification for detecting and revising in the early stage.In the end, according to the proposed method developing a automatic generation basic component path tool(BCP-Tool) on test level used to generate the right test path. The developed environment is Visual Studio 2008 and the language is.NET. The experimental is carried out by BCP-Tool and the experimental results show that the proposed method is feasible and effective.
