With the advent of agricultural high-tech, intelligent agricultural production is particularly important to improve the agricultural productivity. Greenhouse as an important place for planting crops with higher economic efficiency, it makes that natural environment is no longer an important reason for hindering the growth of crops. Plants grown in greenhouse depend on the various environmental factors surrounding, the larger influence of which is temperature, moisture and illumination. It’s not conducive to growth of plants if the larger differences in temperature, moisture and illumination day and night. Therefore, these parameters must be real-time monitored and controlled to keep them in the suitable scope, in order to improve the quality and yield.After a review of literature and various comprehensive comparison, the agricultural greenhouse remote monitoring system based on embedded system and GSM technology has been designed, combined with the growth characteristics of agricultural greenhouse plant.The details are as follows:1. Combined with the actual needs of agricultural greenhouse, the hardware platform and the software platform must be selected suitably to complete overall designing of remote monitoring about agricultural greenhouse.2. According to the characteristics of the microprocessor, we should select sensors and actuators for appropriate data collection, design forward and backward channel for them to complete the hardware design of data acquisition and processing.3. In the Software Platform, the kernel of Linux operating system should be cut and transplanted according to the practical application from researching Linux operating system; download GTK development packages and then built them on the Linux operating system to complete development of a graphical interface on the LCD display.4. Research the characteristics of TC35 I module, debug serial port for communicating with mobile phones and TC35 I modules, to complete sending and receiving short messages in the laboratory environment.5. Compile and install the database of Sqlite3, learning how to operate the database, implementation the query and storage of data.This system utilizes S3C2440 ARM microprocessors, TC35 I communication module as the core hardware to achieve local and remote control; which also develops on Linux platform, GTK as the core software to achieve graphical user interface. The system can monitor local temperature, moisture and illumination of agricultural greenhouse, as well when the worker away from the greenhouse, mobile phone is capable of sending and receiving orders to monitor system to check real-time parameters, control the startup or shutdown of each actuator at any time by GSM network. Therefore, the local and remote monitoring is a convenient and reliable method for agricultural greenhouse systems.
