With industrial development,copper flat wire becomes widely used in transmission and distribution equipment,electromagnetic wire,motors,electrical appliances and other industries, is necessary for industrial manufacturing materials,our demands for copper flat wire is increasing, while the quality of the copper flat wire Detection is also facing more and more challenges.Use continuous extrusion equipment for copper flat wire production is a new technology in recent decades,but in the processing due to many other environmental factors or itself,will have some defects like scratches,scale,bubble,greatly influence the production’s quality.Traditional way of detecting mainly by artificial visual inspection and touch inspection method,hand mark after the defect is detected,this detection method is not only low efficiency,low detection accuracy,but also waste a lot of manpower,therefore, detect detection method of traditional can’t meet the high-speed development of the industrial technology of copper flat wire high quality inspection requirements.Machine vision can be done by machines instead of human eyes detection and judgment,using the computer simulate people’s visual function, from the image to extract the information of objective things for image processing and understanding, and then for the actual detection,now,the rapid development of machine vision technology,machine vision detection method can greatly improve the production efficiency and the degree of produce automation.The purpose of the paper is to research an effective method of copper flat wire surface online detection based on machine vision,so the accuracy of detection and real-time performance will be greatly improved to improving the product quality.First, determine the overall design scheme of online surface defect detection system of copper flat wire,and select appropriate hardware built experiment environment,in order to ensure the real-time acquisition part can clearly capture images of the surface of copper flat wire.Then using the digital image processing technology to real-time acquisition of the surface of copper flat wire image filtering enhancement,image segmentation,edge detection and feature extraction operation to achieve the defect detection.After the image pre-processing algorithms and feature extraction algorithms to identify experimental and study,finally determine the Frame-Difference method for discontinuous frame detection and Contour extraction method as the system’s detection algorithm.Finally completed in Visual C ++ 2010 integrated development environment copper flat wire surface defect detection system software,has an image acquisition module,image processing module,the image is saved and defects query module,the display window can be real-time tracking to observe the production of copper flat wire and detection case,by setting the parameter setting according to the design of the algorithm accuracy then extracted contour defect area,the number, length and location of the defect is calculated and displayed in the result display area,the defect is detected while giving alarm,after experiments the system can run normally.
