AGV(Automated Guided Vehicles) can adapt to various indoor and outdoor material handling work, because of its flexibility, efficiency and adaptability, it is widely used in the areas, such as manufacturing factory, warehouses, sorting, logistics and transportation systems. In this paper, after the research of AGV development at home and abroad, the magnetic guided automated guided vehicle(AGV) is studied.Combined with the specific design requirements, the general design of the AGV is introduced firstly. Each module of AGV is introduced respectively, and it is decided to design an AGV that have radio frequency identification technology and differential steering technology.According to the characteristics of the fork type AGV, the overall structure of AGV is designed. The structure of the driver module and the structure of encoder installation are introduced in this paper. The analysis of drive motor selection and Motion analysis of AGV are also being introduced.On the basis of AGV structure, the control circuit board and the control program is developed. The C8051F410 microcontroller unit is used as the core control chip of the main control circuit board,and Combined with the CURTIS1212 driver, the control board can complete the task of sensor data acquisition and motor control. The AGV control program that consists of the PID control algorithm program and RFID serial communication program is designed to complete the task of AGV walking steering control, safety control and site identification parking control; A prototype is developed successfully, and some experiments have been carried out.The test results show that the overall design of AGV is feasible, and achieved the expected.At the end of this paper, the design work of main system for magnetic guided automatic guided vehicle is summarized and prospected.
