With the rapid development of technology and armament, the modern radar is in danger of “The Four Threats”(the invisible target, the integrated electronic jamming, low and ultra-low altitude penetration, anti-radiation missile), just rely on single radar system can not resist nowadays complicated combat environment. Radar netting according to different kinds of radar system to make different configurations then network these different radar systems. By networking different radar systems can extend the time domain, frequency domain and airspace, taking good advantage of this radar systems to realize fusing all the information, raising the speed of finding the target effectively, reduce the false-alarm and false dismissal, entirely improving the ability of radar netting in the environment of “The Four Threats”. Radar netting is based on the multi-sensor information fusion technology, by putting different information which from different radar systems together and processing to get the accurate property of the target, it means that radar netting needs all the single radar systems to make data process, fuse information and communicate. In the early radar system, all the operations are worked by hardware or by hand, it is no doubt that this would increase the cost and the human’s workload, when it needs to change the configuration, it has to change the chip or refire the chip which cost lots of resources. While Software Defined Radio(SDR) technology has multi-band, multi-functional communication ability and strong flexibility, it can add software modules to add new functions, it also can change or update software modules by wireless loading. Employing the SDR technology can not only reduce the cost of development, but also can enhance the system’s anti-interference, anti-destruction and security.In view of the communication disadvantage of the early radar, the low transmission speed and high costs, while SDR has good flexibility and low costs, adopting SDR in radar system, realize the integration of radar and communication to make high transmission speed in low costs.This paper by studying GSM network and short wave frequency hopping network based on SDR, to validate the practicability of SDR in radar communication system, and simulating this two networks and analyzing the results. The primary coverage of this paper constitutes by four parts. In the first part, explained the backgrounds and significances of the research, the research status of radar communication systems and software defined radio are also introduced; in the second part, introduced the theoretical basis of radar communication systems and software defined radio; in the third part, simulated the GSM network on the SDR platform, and analyzed the system architecture, data-process and channel assignment, also displayed the test process; in the last part, simulated the short wave frequency hopping network according to its principle, and focused on the arithmetic of wide interval frequency hopping sequence; at last summed up the prospect of the research and the work afterward.
