The visual violence in the image transmission has lasted for a long time. It has multiple factorssuch as specific technology, network environment, audience psychology and Society. As a complexphenomenon, it brings great boredom and negative effects to the audience. Its complexity of factorsand multiplicity influence decide that we should analyze the visual impact of violence. Only this,can we take the most effective, practical and feasible measures in this rapidly changing mediaenvironment.This paper is divided into four chapters. Starting from the general logical order of recognizingthings, this paper carries out the comprehensive research of visual violence respectively from thefollowing aspects: the situation, factors, effects and countermeasures.The first chapter gives a briefly introduction of visual violence. First, based on the definition of"visual violence" in the first chapter, it divides the visual violence in news pictures, advertising,comics, film and television works into two kinds, that is dominant violence and recessive violence.Second, it analyzes the presentation of the visual violence in image transmission. By the narrativestrategy of "rationalization" and "utopia" and the expression of "realism" and "aesthetic", mediapushes the visual violence to the audience.The second chapter analyses the factors of visual violence. The factors of the visual violenceare manifold. This paper mainly currieries on the thorough analysis from the psychological factors,social factors, technical factors and transmission dynamical factors. The human nature of violence,the collective unconscious, dissimilation and psychology of catharsis and entertainment are theindividual factors. Free, open media environment and the image consumption in the background ofvisual culture are the social factors. The development of media and mobile Internet technologyprovides technical conditions the spreading of visual violence images. Economic demands of mediaand advertising are the transmission dynamical factors of visual violence images.The third chapter mainly discusses the impacts or the negative impacts of the visual violence.The visual violence has negative impacts on audience’s psychology, cognition, behavior etc. Its main features are like these followings. It acculturates effects on the audience especially the young.The violent content in the visual image makes the audience be in panic and fear. It influencesaudience’s social cognition and makes the audience deviate their view of the real world. It dominatethe audience of consumer behaviors, weaken people’s moral boundaries and challenge thetraditional ethics etc..The fourth chapter is this paper’s propose part. Starting from the three main factors related tothe visual violence, this paper proposes its own advice. The government should make video contenthierarchy as soon as possible,and perfect the relevant laws and regulations. At the same time, thegovernment should strengthen management, improve the network real-name system, strengthen thesupervision of the media, and appropriately interments the media activities. The media shouldstrengthen the responsibility consciousness and perform the responsibilities of public implementwell. It should also improve the self-censorship mechanism and control self activity strictly. Mediapractitioners should improve their professional quality, internalizes responsibility consciousness andenhance their moral ideas. To contribute to boycott the visual violence, the audience should alsoimprove their media literacy, change their reading habits, and form healthy psychology and soundpersonality.
