The Research And Application Of Face Recognition Technology In The Entrance Examination System

Entrance examination has always been one of the important means of selecting talents in the field of Education. In an era which we are promoting informationization, Information technology, especially network technology and multimedia technology is used more and more in the traditional field of Education. The entrance examination mode is changing too, online examination has become a new direction of development which will alternate traditional test model which is tedious, time-consuming.Although online exam broke the geographical restrictions, as one of the important means of selecting talents in education field——Admission examination. How to effectively monitor the examination has become a difficult problem in front of us especially in the web environment. With growth of the number of students and the expanding of test scope, the situation is becoming urgent. In this case, the way the artificial supervise and monitoring based on video monitor which is contrary to our concept has been difficult to meet our requirements.Considering that the human face recognition technology has been relatively mature and widely used. Such as access control attendance systems based on face recognition, face recognition security doors and so on. So the author considers implementing the face recognition technology into the entrance examination system to monitor the students in the process of examination. It also records the cheating cases and saves the acquisition of image information. It can also be used for later review. From a technical point of view, the development of this system is feasible. Besides, it has a good practical value.This article is based on the recruitment test system of Beijing JiaoTong University. We limited the students switch their pages in this system to avoid students cheating in the exam. At the same time, PC has also got great development which general equipped with high megapixel camera. The development of cameras has become relatively simple. So I put forward a kind of online test monitoring system based on face recognition as a supplement.In this paper, we analysis the online test monitoring requirements detailed, and design the overall architecture of the system and the various modules of the system, which will be described detailed in the following. At the same time the related technologies and algorithms used in the project will also be introduced. In the aspect of image processing, I use the Viola-Jones, a face detection algorithm for face detection. At last we use face recognition algorithm based on the characteristics to project the image which will be identified to the each face in the Eigen face space to face alignment. Then we will get the similarity. In the realization of the system, we use OpenCV, a computer vision library to improve the efficiency and quality of development. In addition, AJAX technology will be used to security that the monitoring system will not disturb students’test. At the same time, XML will be used for data storage. Finally, I will analyze the data and come to a conclusion, in order to improve the performance of the system.
