Data explosion is the major challenge of the modern information science field,notonly because the amount of data which is needed to be handled is becoming more andmore big, and the type of data is becoming high dimensional, multi-source,polymorphism, and dynamics, but also the noise of data is becoming isomerism andmutual contradiction, and the Heterogeneous and heterogeneity of data is becomingrelative. Data visualization can convert the messy data into image, which is easy forpeople to understand and to discover rules from them. Therefor, data visualization isgradually becoming the vital role on data research of geography and Marine, especiallyon the big data research. According to the characteristics of Zhairuo terrain data, Thispaper focus on the visualization of Zhairuo mountain, the main research contents andinnovation points are as follows:(1)This paper studies the data visualization technology which is commonly used fordata visualization, such as color mapping method and the contour extraction methodwhich are used on two-dimensional scalar data visualization, isosurface rendering methodwhich is used on three-dimensional scalar data visualization, the method of integral curvewhich is used on vector field data visualization, and some basic visualization technologywhich is based on VTK for some visual specific data.(2)This paper studies the methods of complex model simplification on thevisualization of complex terrain model and proposes a complex terrain modelsimplification algorithm. According to the importance of each vertex, the algorithmsimplifies the model by using edge deletion, surface flattening, and line straighttransformation technology to reduce the number of triangles in the complex model, andusing the quadtree structure to store the multi-resolution terrain data. Positive results areachieved in the multi-resolution visualization on the Zhairuo mountain terrain,.(3)For the wave simulation, this paper studies common wave simulation methods andproposes a Zhairuo mountain wave simulation algorithm using the model of the PM andMitsuyaus.The algorithm firstly computes the value of peak frequency by setting windspeed, and then randomly generates frequencies around the peak frequency, and computesthe wave amplitude using the distribution of the total energy. Finally, it superposesmultiple wave and uses the designed acceleration algorithm to improve the simulation efficiency. The wave simulation of the Zhairuo mountain visualization system which isbased on this method has different wave velocity and different grid.(4)On the basis of the above research contents, this paper describes the design andimplementation of Zhairuo mountain visualization system by using VS2008developmenttool, and open source3d visualization engine VTK, and the cross-platform developmentframework QT.Through specific waters visualization related technology research, this paperimplements Zhairuo mountain waters visualization and provide an intuitive andconvenient means to the management, detection and using of sea area.
