ABSTRACT:To satisfy the daily living needs of people, Pedestrian traffic is a basic way of transportation and an important part of urban traffic. Along with the development of rail transportation, there is a large pedestrian traffic flow in our urban transportation. The study on the pedestrian traffic characteristics can effectively improve the efficiency of pedestrian walking in urban mass transit facilities, ensuring pedestrian safety. Therefore, the study on pedestrian flow is becoming a more and more important task today. Based on the research of micro and macro pedestrian features, and pedestrian characteristics in urban mass transit, a simulation model for pedestrian movement is built in this paper, which is used to study and analyze pedestrian flow and facilities layout in urban mass transit. This paper follows the technology roadmap of "analyzing pedestrian characteristics in urban mass transit---studying microscopic pedestrian simulation model---improving social force model algorithm---establishment and application of the simulation model". Main contents and results include the following four aspects:(1) Analyze pedestrian traffic characteristics in the urban rail transit, so that can provid a theoretical basis and data support for building pedestrian simulation model.(2) Study microscopic pedestrian simulation model, focus is the social force model. There are still problems in social force model, such as pedestrians can’t avoid in time, they will influence each other when they are back to back or separated by a wall, in some cases they overlap too much. By introducing pedestrian prediction mechanism, the model will effectively screen out the pedestrians or obstructions which will conflict with our research object in the future. Then we analyze of the force to improve the avoidance effect in the process of pedestrian walking. Meanwhile, the model is introduced in other mechanisms, including pedestrian behavior intention, expect speed correction and avoiding excessive overlap.(3) The development of pedestrian simulation system is based on MATLAB. Seven new parameters in the improved algorithm are calibrated through pedestrian simulation system in order to ensure more effective pedestrian collision avoidance. The model can simulate typical pedestrian flow phenomena. Compared with the original social force model and other models, it proves the improved model in this paper is able to realize the collision avoidance in the case of pedestrian can walk faster, shorter and smoother. (4) In the end, the model is used to simulate the channel service efficiency in rail transit station channel, studying how rail transportation channel affects the average speed of pedestrians. From there, this paper can reach the recommendations of the railings in the two-way channel. In addition, this paper establishes a pedestrian density and velocity model in two-way channel, propose a combination of non-linear relationships.
