Quantum cryptography is a new cross subject to quantum theory and classical cryptography, the reason for quantum cryptography are preferred is in its unconditional security. According to the basic principles of quantum mechanics, it can make quantum cryptography have absolute safety. So, many scholars thought using this security properties of quantum cryptography to design quantum secure communication system based on the various. This kind of quantum communication system can carry on the unconditional security of information transmission. Private information retrieval is one of the most important research contents of secure multi-party computation, this problem briefly refers to that the query will not be leaked in the process of information retrieval. That is to say, in the whole process, the database can not obtain the information of the index. Application of private information retrieval in the patent database query, military, financial and other fields plays a role that can not be replaced.In the research process of the topic, this paper conducted in-depth study and Research on the basic theory in quantum mechanics. On the basis of protocol in quantum key distribution as well as the research background and the research significance are introduced. Secondly, the main problems and challenges of private information retrieval are analyzed, and also carries on the analysis and comparative study of two kinds of typical related solutions. In addition, security and efficiency on two kinds of typical protocols are analyzed respectively, comparison of the advantages and disadvantages of various schemes through the induction and the summary, which leads to the meaning of study on private information retrieval protocol based on quantum theory. Finally, by using the knowledge of quantum key distribution system and quantum secure direct transfer, put forward two quantum symmetric-private information retrieval schemes which can against the eavesdropping of the third party.
