As one of the typical applications in the convergence of multiple wireless networks, Mobile TV is referred to as "killer operator" of 3G. In general, the solution of mobile TV services can be categorized into two main parts:digital broadcasting network-based solutions and terrestrial cellular network-based solutions. In China, the development of mobile TV has been restricted by regulatory policy. And so far there is no uniform standard. The convergence of these two types of standards has been a hotspot and difficulty of research for Mobile TV.In addition, the increasing of mobile TV traffic and the uneven distribution of traffic load make the 4G network deployment being more urgent. The construction of large-scale communication networks brings energy consumption and environmental pollution problems. The base station as a major part of the communication network energy consumption unit is the key factor for energy conservation.This dissertation focuses on these problems and proposes an efficient energy saving algorithm within the CMMB and TD-MBMS converged networks. The algorithm combines the use of cell zooming and sleeping mode. We analyze the algorithm in the CMMB cell of green light load, over-load, and low-load which are the three different application scenarios. Through the modified free space model and COST231-Hata model, the energy consumption of the base station in the converged networks of CMMB and TD-MBMS is modeled. Then, we quantify the total energy consumption of the base station in three scenarios. At the end we use the software Origin to achieve modeling about the performance of the proposed green algorithm, and the merits are proved according to the modeling results.
