Education informatization has been a significant evaluation index of a nation’s educational level. China’s 12 th five-year plan and "The National Guidelines for Medium and Long-Term Educational Reform and Development" have listed education informatization as one of the key educational development projects. However, because of history and technology development, many problems arise in restricting the development of education, such as uneven distribution of educational resources, the lack of high-quality educational resources, the higher infrastructure costs, and so on. Therefore, an efficient, stable cloud-based education platform is constructed to provide effective solutions for these problems.Cloud-based education platform applies the idea of cloud computing in the field of education, enhances centralized management for the teaching information resources, and finally provides the form of cloud services users. Therefore, it can effectively improve the quality and efficiency of education to promote information in the process of education. Furthermore, during the construction of the cloud-based education platform, it needs to build a high performance, large capacity, and easy management cloud storage system to solve the weakness of high-cost, low efficiency, bad expansibility and disaster tolerance in existing storage systems.In this thesis, we build a cloud-based education platform through the VMware v Sphere. Then, on this platform, we construct an efficient, stable and easy extension cloud storage system based on the hadoop distributed file system(HDFS). Finally, several applications of cloud storage system are studied in the cloud-based education platform. This thesis mainly includes the following works:(1) Build a cloud-based education platform through the VMware v Sphere. On this platform, we may deploy single or batch virtual desktops, which allow users to login to the virtual desktops at anytime and anywhere through mobile devices, such as computer, mobile phone, i Pad, cloud terminal, and so on. Meanwhile, this platform supports the automatic migration of virtual machines when a failure of the servers is detected.(2) Construct a cloud storage system based on HDFS. We first deploy network nodes and its topology of the cloud storage system, and present the installation configuration hadoop document and deploy the Zookeeper cluster to achieve high availability of the controlling nodes. Afterwards we study the theories of the cloud storage system, such as the working mechanism, backup strategy, load balancing strategy and the implementation of the storage.(3) Connect the cloud storage system with the cloud-based education platform. Based on the connection, the cloud-based education platform can access the cloud storage as well as the local file systems. And then we study the applications of the cloud storage in the cloud-based education platform, such as building a unified resource sharing platform, providing a reliable data backup center, and guaranteeing a high-availability platform.
