In recent years, with the improvement of scientific and technological progress, the rapid development of economy, the people are no longer satisfied with the basic material life, but also have higher requirements on the spiritual life. And the entertainment and cultural industries which are related to spiritual life are also developing rapidly. Among them, the animation industry with its own unique charm, is attracting a lot of children, students and even adults’ attention, some cartoons such as:XiYangYang and HuiTaiLang, XiongChuMo, HaiMianBaoBao and DaTouErZi and XiaoTouBaBa are also loved by everyone, and therefore, the market size of the animation industry, is from 4 billion in 2009 soared to 13 billion yuan in 2013. However, compared to the market size with rapid development, the drawing methods have being developed more slowly. There are a lot of animation works from the painter’s hand-drawn animation, especially some of the repetitive works, and sometimes can not be replaced by computers, which not only reduces the time efficiency, but also improves the labor costs. To solve these problems, we have proposed the interactive systhesis program for usually repeated the textures such as:color patterns on clothing, grass, sky, animals and plant’ skin textures, building exterior and so on. According to the program, mainly do the research on the three aspects:(1), Image segmentation, if you want to fill the details on the cartoon which does not contain any texture, or replace the unsatisfied textures of an area. Firstly, We need to segment the region which you will fill or replace from the comic figures. In this paper, we do a careful study and analysis for the traditional image segmentation including the common automatic image segmentation algorithms and interactive image segmentation algorithms. we focus on analyzing the Graph Cuts segmentation algorithm with better effect and discuss the shortcomings of the first two methods, propose a simple segmentation remedies.(2), the LBP texture feature, when we use the program of interactive texture synthesis, we need to search a series of suitable texture samples for painters’selection. So this paper we use the LBP texture feature with better result for similarity search. And on it, we are based on the importance of the color for cartoon, improve the texture LBP feature, changes it to be sensitive for the texture and color as the same time as the image feature.(3), Texture synthesis, the final step of interactive texture synthesis is to choose a good texture samples to synthesize the new comic figures using a synthesis algorithm. Therefore, we talks about usually-used texture synthesis algorithms based on samples, and compares with performance and synthesis quality between them, finally we choose GraphCut algorithm. This paper presents the inadequacies of traditional GraphCut algorithm for maintaining the brightness and the linear mapping approach is proposed to improve the texture synthesis algorithm. and put forward a texture synthesis algorithm which can maintain images’ brightness.
