In recent years, mobile internet develops rapidly along with the pervasion of mobile terminals. LBS (Location-Based Service) has become a convenient method familiar to the mobile users. The users can access all kinds of LBS from service providers by locating and providing geo-locations.However, several negative issues have emerged with the mobile LBS. On one hand, due to multiple locating techniques and lacking of unified management, mobile positioning often suffers from insufficient robust, high energy consumption and so on. On the other hand, the users have to provide their geo-locations to the LBS server, and this has posed major threats to their location privacy. For these reasons, we present two system models, MiLocation and DeCache, to solve the problems in the process of LBS user locating and LBS service trading on the Android platform. MiLocation takes control of the location management in Android system, it increases the system robustness and in the meantime saves the energy. DeCache improves the process of service trading using the two-level cache design based on the user mobility pattern, it protects user’s location privacy and saves user’s mobile cellular data usage.Based on the system design, we implement the prototype system on the Android platform. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our strategy, we carry out extensive experiments and the results show that MiLocation can manage location on the Android platform effectively and DeCache can solve the location privacy problem without compromising the accuracy in an innovative way.
