With the development of technology, the application of white LED is more and more widely, it is expected to become the next generation of lighting equipment because of its high brightness, low power consumption and long life. Nowadays, RF communication system is widely used in our daily life. However, it is often restricted by interference and shortage of spectrum. Now, we always advocate green communication. So, it is hoped that white LEDs are not only used for indoor lighting, but also can be used to build the indoor optical wireless communication system. In Visible Light Communication(VLC), electrical signals are converted into light signals by the drive circuit, and through the LEDs to launch out from transmitters. The receivers receive light signals by optical detection equipment and extract the useful signal components to realize communication. This paper first introduces the general theory of VLC, and put forward a feasible solution to optimize the traditional indoor VLC model. Secondly, we discuss the system performance of visible light communication and analyze the characteristics of channel impulse response. The influence of the multipath effect is also concerned. Thirdly, we research key technologies of OFDM and MIMO, and put forward suitable MIMO-OFDM scheme for indoor VLC system. Finally, we combine with the actual environment to discuss the MIMO-OFDM scheme, multiuser access and integration with power-line communication.
