Compared with traditional target detection, location and tracking technology of air moving radiation source is a new breakthrough, which plays a significant role in electronic warfare, navigation, spaceflight and aviation. The precise target location is a precondition for getting the initiative of the battlefield information to attack or jam target, and it plays an important role in military intelligence collection. Since air moving target owns maneuverability, high speed and capacity of cruising in a long distance and a wide range, synchronous satellite has a great advantage in taking a long time and large-scale surveillance to meet the requist.Accroding to the complexity of air target’s movement, interacting multiple model filtering algorithm is applied in satellite location and tracking system to deal with the problem.The thesis mainly focuses on target location and tracking under the tri-satellite TDOA/FDOA joint location system, applying Kalman filter and interacting multiple model filter. Moreover, the tri-satellite TDOA/FDOA joint location and tracking simulation software based on the Matlab has been designed. Main contents are as follows:Firstly, a relatively comprehensive analysis about the basic methods of satellite location and a discussion of three passive location methods and their performance have been presented: time difference of arrival location method(TDOA), frequency difference of arrival location method(FDOA) and joint location method. By adopting the tri-satellite TDOA/FDOA joint location system, the location principle and algorithm have been analyzed.After establishing the motion model, target location and tracking has been achieved. In order to reduce the non-linear effect, the thesis has combined Cartesian coordinate system with geodetic coordinate system and researched on the conversion relationship between longitude/latitude and the earth fixed coordinate. A universal formula, which provides a reliable guarantee for the tri-satellite TDOA/FDOA joint location and tracking algorithm, has been deduced.Secondly, the Kalman filtering, iterative Kalman filtering, interacting multiple model filtering and adaptive interacting multiple model filtering algorithm have been described in detail. The iterative Kalman filtering and adaptive interacting multiple model filtering have been respectively used in uniform moving and turning situation. As state equation and observation equation had been established on the concept of the linear system’s controllability and observability, a high-level description of the dynamic information system could be made. The two filtering algorithms have been simulated and analyzed, which makes a qualitative description about the effect of TDOA/FDOA parameters on target location and tracking.Finally, a brief introduce on the principle and process of Matlab GUI interface and a detail about the technology and designing process we used have been given. Then, A tri-satellite TDOA/FDOA location and tracking simulation software has been designed. This software can run directly under the Matlab environment.
