In recent years, as surface wave antennas possessing the merits of low profile, small air resistance and other characteristics are easy to install on a variety of aircraft surface, which attracted widespread interest of researchers. In this paper, we mainly studies the accurate control of surface wave and the design of the surface wave antenna, mainly studied the following several parts.1. In this paper we first introduce the basic theory of the surface wave, on this basic we analyze the design principle of the surface wave antenna, by the example of two classical surface wave antenna, dielectric rod surface wave antenna and row of monopoles surface wave antenna. Then by a full-wave ?nite-element simulation of the two classical wave antennas, we study the structural parameters and radiation characteristics of the surface wave antenna. At last, we point out the limitation of the design of the classical surface wave antenna.2. Then we propose the transformation optics theory in this paper. We study the application of the transformation optics theory in the control of electromagnetic wave by the theory and simulation of the electromagnetic invisible cloak. On this basis, we give the theory of the carpet cloak, which is covered the dielectric slab to achieve the electromagnetic wave control. Then we give the surface wave precise control scenarios in the microwave band by the use of transformation optics. One of the control scenarios is a surface wave traveling along a non-uniform dielectric slab interface with a triangle obstacle present on the grounded interface, the other one is a surface wave that bypasses a metallic diamond obstruction which embedded in the evenly grounded dielectric plate and then travels on the guided wave plane. We have already achieved a precise control of the surface waves by optimizing the dielectric constant of the barrier stealth material covering on the obstacles.3. At last, this paper proposes and analysis the traditional hyperbolic lens antenna, and on this basis proposes a new type of surface wave lens antenna to increase the gain of the traditional hyperbolic lens surface wave antenna. Precise control theory has been applied to the design of surface wave antenna, a new transform lens embedded in theguided dielectric slab in order to enhance the radiation directivity and the antenna gain of the surface wave antenna. The new lens is obtained by the quasi-conformal transformation optics which compresses the traditional hyperbolic lens into a flat lens. Furthermore a feasible way that drilling holes on the dielectric sheet to synthesize the required dielectric constants is be used to achieve this new kind of transform flat lens. Electromagnetic Simulation results show that this new wave lens antenna can greatly improve the directivity while maintaining the original low profile. Electromagnetic simulation results show that this new type of surface wave lens antenna can greatly improve the directivity while maintaining the original low profile.
