| With the increasingly large scale Integrated Circuit (IC) development and the feature size shrinking, electrical reliability verification is gradually becoming an essential step in IC design. The content of IC electrical reliability verification mainly includes Electrical Rule Checks (ERC) and some electrostatic discharge (ESD) connection rules check.Electrical reliability verification mentioned in this paper mostly focuses on schematic verification, and an example of layout verification is also included here.This paper presents the basic concept of electrical reliability verification first, and then several methods and tools used in electrical reliability verification are compared, as well as PERL script currently used to verify the electrical reliability. The author finds out the electrical reliability verification based on Calibre PERC tool has more advantages, for example, its function can be expanded easily and its simple usage, high efficiently, accurate results. So the author tries to realize the basic functions of electrical reliability verification based on Calibre PERC tool, and the implementation key point is to write PERC rule file with Standard Verification Rule Format (SVRF) command and TCL language, then some new electrical reliability verification functions are developed according to the project need, and the PERC rule file is applied to the 0.13um EEPROM process project, the results are exactly right and reliable. And compared with the results from the original PERL scripts, it’s more intuitive and easier to debug and analysis.At the last chapter of this Paper, the author tries to integrate the electrical reliability verification of PERC into the company’s own physical verification flow with her work experience. This integration could make the electrical reliability verification more automated and much easier for users. So a new method of trying on doing electrical reliability verification with Calibre PERC tool is completed. |
