During the process of growing and selecting corps, it is of insignificant importance on the high-frequent and precise collection of biological indices of individual samples and their surrounding environmental parameters. In general, the samples feature big cardinal number and long growing cycle. To realize high-level automation of the process of growing and selecting corps, this paper designed Data Collection System(DCS) for greenhouse corps. The DCS is based on micro automated guided vehicle(AGV). It also uses techniques of advanced RISC machines(ARM), radio frequency identification(RFID), sensors, wireless communication, and modern control, etc. The DCS consists of micro AGV, VDAS(Vehicle Data Acquisition System), communication and control system.Specifically, the micro AGV, made up of control unit, action unit, guiding unit and orientation unit, is used to automatic navigate and pinpoint the location of samples; The control unit uses S3C6410 chip as the core processor, S3C6410 is Samsung ARM1176JZF-S core based 16/32 generic RSIC processor to meet the data processing requirements; The action unit uses ASLONG GA20Y180 Micro DC geared motor as the drive motor, and to achieve control of the motor L293D-based control module; The guiding unit using optical guided navigation, to achieve reliable navigation through two micro AGV navigation module; The orientation unit using RFID and optical recognition two kinds of ways to achieve targeting to ensure that the process of moving miniature AGV precise positioning. The VDAS, made up of data acquisition units of image and environment as well as data processing unit, is used to data collection of samples’ images, environmental humidity and temperature, carbon dioxide intensity, illumination intensity, and then to process and store the collected data; the communication and control system, made up of vehicle communication unit, and control software on remote control computer, is used to communicate and control from long distance. When collecting the sample’s data, the control software sends orders, the micro AGV carrying VDAS begins to collect images and environmental parameters according to the planned routine. In order to validate the accuracy and stability of the DCS, the paper chose soybean pot as sample, and took experiments on image and environmental data acquisition. It turns out that the images taken from the DSC is evenly in good quality which satisfies the requirements of image processing in the later period. Besides, the errors between the automatically collected environmental data and manual data are at around 2%, which meets the precision standards of data acquisition. The DCS operated stably during the experiments, Phenomenon of out of routine did not occur. The error of orientation is fewer than 6 mm. It took the DSC 9 minutes to collect images of 160 samples, which demonstrates that the efficiency is improved greatly. This paper overcame the problem of data acquisition of individual samples when growing and selecting corps. It provides a good reference for the automatic acquisition of greenhouse corps.
