The night vision devices was first used to locate enemy targets.On the battlefield at all times, people attach great importance to use the cover of darkness, to win victories that difficult to obtain during the day. Later the night vision was applied to other applications, including navigation, surveillance, targeting, visual aids and so on. Currently there are night vision and infrared night vision. Infrared night vision can be divided into active infrared night vision and passive infrared night vision. Night vision imaging quality is better, and the picture is clearer, but its core component is a high-tech image intensifier products, the processes are particularly complex, and the cost is very high. Active infrared night vision need infrared light, and they also have good image quality, and the picture is very clear.The imaging device is relatively mature and stable and is not easily affected by strong light during the day. Passive infrared night vision images by sensing the heat emitted by the objects. It is not susceptible to be disturbed, and it has the function through the fog. The image quality is poor, the prices of the core Imaging Unit are relatively high.Compared with other countries, we start to research the night vision very late, and so far, most applications are still used in the military field. Extensions in civilian areas have not been done well. Night Vision product development will focus on civilian markets in the near future, such as automotive night vision, focusing on workplace surveillance, cameras with night vision and so on. In the future they will become the focus of the market development. Night time is a half day, and during the time people’s mobility and range of motion is limited in some extent. With the rapid development of society, the range of human activities will reach every corner of the world, people’s demand for night vision products has been increasing, the prospects of our night vision are very good.ARM uses the Cortex named after its classic product ARM11, Cortex series is ARMv7 architecture, which is the company’s latest ARM instruction set architecture. It was divided into A, R and M categories, aiming to provide service for different ARMv7 markets, "M" series for microcontrollers. Cortex-M3 uses a new type of single-wire debug technology, and integrates most of the memory controller, and uses a variety of ground-breaking technology, so the chip suppliers may supply low-cost products, the core of only 33,000 may perform up to 1.2DMIPS/MHz. The processor also integrates a number of tightly-coupled system peripherals, so that the control system can meet the needs of the next generation of products. Cortex-M3 is the combination of low power, low cost, and high performance.This paper completes the design of the full range of active laser night vision control system that based on the cost-effective Cortex-M3 processor of the latest ARMv7 architecture. This paper improves the software and hardware design, introduces a complete stepper motor driven method, and designs excellent infrared laser control circuit, combined with the flexibility of software storage and control. With the integrated camera of the major manufacturers, they can form a powerful night vision control systems for a variety of civilian applications.
