An Active Night Vision System Based On IR LED Searchlight

Semiconductor industry brings revolution to many traditional technology fields. With the development of material and capability, semiconductor illumination will be a pivot of the active night vision. An active IR night vision is made up with IR searchlight and video capture system. In this paper, we optimize the power circuit and heat decrease module. An active night vision system make up of IR searchlight, low lumen CCD vidicon, video capture card and internet technology is presented.In order to develop this system, we research the progress of IR night vision and study the characters of some current systems. Then we do a mass of work on getting a kind of proper IR LED. We use GaAlAs LED to make our IR lamp. After a great deal of test, we find that temperature increasing and power fluctuation impact a lot on the LED light. So we make a PWM power module with the core of HV9910 and optimize the heat decrease design. After that, a video capture card and a low lumen CCD vidicon are added on. People can get IR video on the computer. Further more, we develop a set of net video system based on internet technology. Finally, the paper expound a way of wireless video distribution cooperate with current mobile net.In this paper, a whole active IR night vision system is developed. We select the suitable element, study the principle of the night vision, make the module of video capture and distribute the video to the internet. This system is expected to be an advanced method in traffic, mine industry, residential area and any other life and security safety domain.
