With the development of information technology and the society pay more attention to the traditional Chinese medicine informatization construction, data mining of TCM also works in depth. Due to historical and regional reasons, TCM has huge information. How to make better use of ancient literatures, clinical data and prescriptions to complete the data mining work, to find out useful knowledge to provide helpful support for TCM prescriptions, to speed up the process of new knowledge discovery, which is the focus of this study.Data mining can be used to identify the law hidden under the large data. In this study, we will apply the data mining in TCM, and design a TCM formula system, thus to provide powerful reference for TCM research and development. In research strategy, at first it introduce the features of data acquisition and pre-processing, then, by combining the characteristics of TCM, data were pretreated. Finally, requirements analysis, design, coding according to the process of software engineering, form the final application.Details are as follows:1.Because of the problem of information sources in TCM prescriptions and herbs, the TCM original data existing alias, drug homologous and other situations, it is difficult to be directly applied to data mining. This study uses name retrieval to deal with the alias.2.Because the medicine dose is not unified in TCM prescription, the subject will change dose into unified unit firstly, then use the percentage way to determine the percentage of each medicine in the prescription. In the case of a large number of prescriptions, these drugs will show a continuous distribution. Therefore we will pre-treat the raw data and measure unit, standardize the Chinese medicine prescription data, in order to provide numerical data of fuzzy representation for data mining algorithms.3.FP-Tree algorithm is used to achieve the engine of data mining.And the engine is used in system’s architecture designing. The above work is not only to meet the system requirements for data mining, and the engine can also be applied to other projects. Further more, it is easy to be changed the engine when the engine’s requirement is changed.4.With the goal of this subject, in accordance with the characteristics of TCM data, to use the data mining way to discover the relevant rules among "Symptoms-Symptoms," "Drugs-Meridian", "drugs-drugs" in the prescriptions.5.To increase the user experience and verify the results of data mining. At the end of this study, a TCM prescriptions system is designed by the guide of waterfall model,which starting from requirements analysis, brief design and detailed design. In the detailed design, it designs the data access layer and business logic layer system so as to improve the flexibility of the system.
