In modern medicine, according to the X-ray images to judge condition has become an important part in the process of medical diagnosis. so the medical image processing and analysis are increasingly brought to the attention of the people. So how to get the highly clear realistic medical image is of great significance for the doctor to diagnose the illness. However, due to the limitation of hardware conditions and the influence of artificial operation, the medical image is usually obtained with high noise, large overlapping degree, rich details, etc. These factors bring certain difficulties to the medical diagnosis, make it hard for doctors to make accurate judgment, and result in misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. Therefore, medical X-ray image enhancement processing is very important for improving the accuracy of medical diagnosis.Based on the background, this paper starts from the characteristics of X-ray image medical image enhancement, analyzes the shortcoming of the current medical X-ray image processing method, combined with the existing algorithm, and present the X-ray image enhancement algorithm based on multi-scale and histogram equalization.The paper main work is as follows:1) To study the traditional image enhancement algorithms and improved algorithm is put forward. Study the histogram equalization、gray level transformation、smooth filtering、sharpen filtering in spatial domain and the he Fourier transform、High/low pass filtering algorithm in frequency domain. Based on this, two kinds of improved algorithm are proposed, hybrid space enhancement algorithm and High-pass filtering emphasized enhancement algorithm.2) Study the histogram equalization enhancement algorithm and multi-scale technology theory knowledge. Fully understand the advantages and shortcomings of two kinds of methods. From theory to practice, combine the theory of multi-scale and the Mallat algorithm to the concrete image enhancement algorithm and lay the foundation put forward the later algorithm.3) In the light of the characteristics of medical X-ray images, put forward the X-ray image enhancement algorithm based on multi-scale and histogram equalization. Describe the process of the algorithm in detail and each step in the process. Do the wavelet decomposition for the image, then histogram equalization on low frequency information and wavelet coefficient on the high frequency information. Last wavelet inverse transform after above processing.Finally give the processing result.In this paper, the histogram equalization technology in space domain and the wavelet technology in frequency domain are combined. At the same time, it can not only enhance the contrast of medical images, but also can protect and enhance the high frequency edge detail information. After processing, the medical X-ray image can display the information better which the doctors interest and provide more reliable basis information for the doctor to diagnose the disease.
