FBG is a common passive filter parts,with high sensitivity,simple structure,small volume,as well as good linearity,widely used in the sensor field.But conventional encapsulation methods the cladding layer of polyethylene oxide resin,under the harsh environment too long easy to aging, creep, relative displacement caused by optical fiber,Affect the accuracy of measurement,At the same time,the conventional encapsulated FBG temperature sensitivity was poor,not suitable for under the condition of some high precision.Through the metal packaging can effectively improve the above problems,make its applicable temperature range increases and firmly enhanced,increased temperature sensitivity,and weldability.In this paper,using chemical plating process,in FBG substrate surface copper coating was successfully achieved,and the orthogonal experiment design,To optimize the chemical plating the main fluid formulation.Through the experiment study the influence of the main composition of electroless plating.Coating performance testing for the copper coated fiber grating,observe the plating is bright and clean,by method of thermal shock test coating binding force,test proved that the copper plating layer of good performance,satisfies the requirement of experiment.In the preparation of copper plating on the basis of the fiber Bragg grating,this article through to bare fiber Bragg grating temperature characteristic comparison,it is concluded that copper plating after win min of fiber Bragg grating is greatly increased,its good linearity and repeatability.At the same time for Fiber Bragg Grating after copper plating appear wider bandwidth of the transmission spectrum,transmission spectrum of issues such as losses increase.Study used in the chemical plating the copper coated fiber grating in the constant temperature water bath after slow cooling process.It reduce the transmission spectrum bandwidth increases,the peak increase in loss reduction,hysteresis error is reduced,greatly improving the practical performance after copper fiber gratings.
