Robot technology is a multidisciplinary integrated technology, including artificial intelligence, computer, pattern recognition, visual processing technology, etc. With the progress of science and technology, robot technology has made great progress. At the same time, entertainment robots gradually enter into the line of sight of people. The paper mainly studied the function of man-machine chess game by the design and research of visual robot arm robot.The visual identification was achieved through correlation algorithm contained the image processing technology. The image capture was pretreatment, grayscale, binarization and threshold segmentation. At last it can automatically arrange chessboard and distinguish the chessman through the projection-cross point detection and contour tracking method.Using a two-dimensional array board, visual robot was designed and achieved the optimal route. The program introduced each piece moves and designed the best route by negamax algorithm and Alpha-Beta search algorithm.There was a display function of PC interface with the design of visual robot software and servo controlled robotic arm system. The servo controlled robotic arm system containing pulse output mode, speed control, multi-axes synchronous layout, AC servo motor interface settings and two-axis linear interpolation was successful to combine the system software and hardware.Finally, the control software tests and servo robot arm movement experiments were experimented. It demonstrated the study achieved a perfect exhibition that the visual robot could make Chinese chess man-machine game.
