Country has reserves of mineral resources, the development scale, mine life and so do a detailed investigation, and the mining reserves established spatial information database, the degree of accuracy of the information held by the state’s mining resources have also established a verification database mining rights registration database, statistical databases. However, while the number of database construction, the same mine due to their different properties, when the presence of different databases have occurred, and the management of different databases, use, maintain, update information is often not in the same department, so the minerals, mineral rights and other information there will be some of the more confusing operation.In 2007, the Ministry launched the "status quo National Mineral Resource Use Survey" project, as China’s reserves of mineral resources in Sichuan province, and its geographical position, the wide distribution of mineral resources, mining rights more. Therefore, the above problem for a lot of research work carried out. SURF algorithm using improved use of existing data to address the geospatial position allowed mining, mining position offset, shift, gland and other issues, so that the management of mineral reserves more accurate data. The main research contents and results are mainly the following aspects:(1) Analysis of various technical mine DEM image matching, Sichuan old mine contour data to sort out the summary, mining DEM image matching method of forming.(2) Contour extraction layer data mining, the use of GIS spatial data processing techniques for processing the raw data to form a non-coordinate mine DEM spatial database and a high-precision image space coordinates DEM database.(3) Mine DEM image matching principle analysis, the SURF algorithm was improved to achieve high accuracy position matching mine DEM.
