The rational use of land is a comprehensive reflection of regional economic, social and ecological factors. The land use degree and development trend of future influence the development of the economy, the change of ecological environment and people’s daily life directly. With the rapid development of science and technology, mathematical methods play an extremely important role in the evaluation and prediction of land utilization. Provides a scientific evaluation measure for rational utilization of land. Evaluation and prediction of land use database is the combine of land use spatial database and mathematical method, It is an important part of land use evaluation and prediction system. The establishment of the database, provide the data basis for structure adjustment of land use, development of land management policy and ecological environment restoration.In this topic, the evaluation and prediction of land use in Wanjiang demonstration area as the research background, mathematical model and spatial data dynamic association through the GIS technology to establish database of land evaluation and prediction. The establishment of the database in favor of consolidate and enhance the achievement of regional ecological construction, and promote social sustainable development, economic sustainable development, resources sustainable utilization, environment sustainable improvement. It is a great significance to regional ecological environment security.This paper mainly studies the following contents:(1) Summarizes the research status of land use database design at home and abroad. Points out the important significance of the combination of land use spatial database and mathematical evaluation and prediction model.(2) Discusses the basic theory of spatial database design, describes the mathematical methods of land evaluation and prediction, including the Principal Component Analysis and Partial Least Squares Regression.(3) Focus on the design and realization method of evaluation and prediction of land use database, covering database design principles, construction requirements, conceptual design, logical design and physical design.(4) Using ArcSDE spatial database engine and large relational database SQL Server2005, achieved the function of data storage, real-time call, dynamic management for the evaluation and prediction of land use database.(5) Finally, test database structure and function, confirmed rationality, applicability and operability of the database design through the evaluation and prediction of land use system.In this paper, the design and research of the "land use evaluation and prediction database based on GIS " has been tried out, the results show that the database design conform to the rationality and operability requirements of spatial database. Meet the demand of real-time call and dynamic management of the mathematical model, reasonable structure, operation, perfect function.
