Radio Frequency Identification(RFID) technology which is the basis of information standardization and anefficient real-time method to collect and process information is ranked as one of the most significant technologies. The technology has been widely used in many different kinds of areas such as production, retail, logistics and transportation. Passage machine is a specific application based on RFID. It plays an important role in the field of intelligentidentification, work attendance checking, college dormitory management and security and protection. Since the antenna is an important section of the passage machine based on RFID, the performance of antenna has andecisive influence on theintegralsystem performanceof the passage machine. In this thesis,we introduce the principle and the progress of the antenna design and the factors that influence the performance of antenna. Then through the existing theories and methods of antenna design, wedesign and optimize the performance of the passage machine antenna. Firstly, we need to select the antenna structure device (such as capacitor, resistance, magnetic ring and coaxial cable) to finish the hardware design; Then the Q value should be confirmed by mathematical calculation; At last, after the comparison among the copper foil antenna, copper pipe antennaand PCB antenna, the material of the antenna has been selected. The thesis analyzes the simulation results of the designed antenna after the design of antenna structure to study the effect of different factors on the antenna. It studies the antennasin different application methods and concludes their advantages and disadvantages so as to the designed antenna could meet the requirements of electric properties, mechanical properties, working status, reliability and manufacturingprocess. The experiment results of the thesis also provide guidance for the design and manufacture of antenna.
